Saxa is one of the United Kingdom's most iconic heritage brands, having been established in 1907 by the Cerebos Salt Company. The brand is synonymous with high-quality seasonings and has been a staple in British kitchens for over a century. While the brand originated in the UK, the Himalayan pink salt variant is naturally sourced from the Punjab region of Pakistan, specifically from the Khewra Salt Mine, which is the second-largest salt deposit in the world.

Ownership of the brand has transitioned through major food conglomerates over the decades. It was previously a brand under Rank Hovis McDougall until it was acquired by Premier Foods in 2007. Under Premier Foods' management, the production and packaging operations for Saxa products were moved to facilities in Worksop and Ashford, Kent. In certain international markets like Australia, the brand rights were acquired by Kraft Heinz in 2018, but it remains a core part of the Premier Foods portfolio in its home market of Great Britain.
