Thüringer Land is a regional German dairy brand with a history dating back to 1994. Although its name and branding strongly suggest an origin in the state of Thuringia, the product is primarily processed and bottled in Würzburg, Bavaria, by the Würzburger Milchwerke. This historical development occurred after the takeover of a bottling plant in Obermaßfeld by the Milchwerke Mainfranken (later Würzburger Milchwerke).

In 2022, the brand underwent a significant ownership change when the Würzburger Milchwerke and its regional brands were acquired by the Lactalis Group. Despite the change in corporate ownership to a French multinational, the brand maintains its regional marketing strategy, emphasizing its connection to German dairy farmers and utilizing its signature traditional glass bottles. The milk itself is sourced from regional farms located in the border regions between Thuringia and Bavaria.
