In late 2025, a significant change in ownership occurred when the Van Eerd family, through their investment vehicle Mississippi Ventures, acquired full ownership of HEMA by purchasing the remaining 50% stake from the Dutch investment firm Parcom. This acquisition brought HEMA under the same ultimate ownership group as the Jumbo supermarket chain, marking a new chapter for the retailer as a fully private, family-owned Dutch entity heading into 2026.
