Toms Mimoser is a classic Danish confectionery product consisting of roasted hazelnuts with nougat and dark chocolate. The brand is deeply rooted in Danish social culture and has been a staple in the region for decades.
Founded in 1924 by Hans Trojel and Victor Hans Meyer, the Toms Group has grown from a local chemist's side-project into Denmark's largest confectionery manufacturer. Historically, production was centered at the iconic Ballerup factory in Denmark, designed by architect Arne Jacobsen. However, as of late 2024 and moving into 2026, the company is transitioning much of its chocolate production to its facility in Nowa Sól, Poland, to improve competitiveness while maintaining its headquarters and specialized sweets production in Denmark.
Ownership of the brand is unique; since 1974, the company has been fully owned by the Gerda and Victor B. Strand Foundation (also known as the Toms Group Foundation). This foundation structure ensures that the company operates with a focus on long-term sustainability and charitable contributions rather than short-term private profit, supporting various local and global initiatives.
