Fage is a premier international dairy brand with a rich history dating back to 1926 when Athanassios Filippou opened a small dairy shop in Athens, Greece. The brand is globally recognized for its signature Greek strained yogurt, which follows a traditional production method requiring approximately four liters of milk to produce just one kilo of yogurt. This concentration results in its hallmark thick, creamy texture and high protein content.
While Fage remains deeply rooted in its Greek heritage, it has significantly expanded its global manufacturing and operational footprint. Today, products are manufactured in several locations, including Greece (Metamorfosi) and the United States (Johnstown, New York). To further its reach in the European market, the company has also undertaken the development of a large-scale manufacturing facility in the Netherlands. In 2012, due to the economic landscape in Greece, the company relocated its corporate headquarters to Luxembourg, though the founding family continues to maintain ultimate ownership and control of the enterprise.
