Paramount media and entertainment

Paramount is a legendary name in the global entertainment industry, originally founded in 1912 as the Famous Players Film Company by Adolph Zukor. Over more than a century, it evolved through various corporate structures, including ownership by Gulf+Western and later Viacom under the leadership of Sumner Redstone and his family's holding company, National Amusements.

In August 2025, a historic shift occurred when Paramount Global merged with Skydance Media to form Paramount Skydance Corporation (doing business simply as Paramount). This merger marked the end of the Redstone family's decades-long control, passing leadership to David Ellison. The company is now a publicly traded entity on the Nasdaq under the symbol PSKY.

While headquartered in Los Angeles and New York, Paramount's "manufacturing"—in the form of film and television production—takes place in multiple countries worldwide, including major hubs in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia, reflecting its status as a truly global media powerhouse.
