eDreams is one of the world's leading online travel agencies, originally founded in March 1999 in Silicon Valley by Javier Pérez-Tenessa, James Hare, and Mauricio Prieto. Despite its Californian start, the brand quickly relocated its primary operations to Barcelona, Spain, in 2000, establishing itself as a pioneer in the European digital travel market.

In 2011, eDreams underwent a significant transformation when it merged with the French agency GO Voyages and subsequently acquired Opodo and Travellink. This strategic consolidation led to the formation of eDreams ODIGEO, which is currently the parent group overseeing the brand. The company transitioned to a public entity in 2014, listing on the Spanish stock exchanges (Bolsa de Madrid).

As a digital service provider, eDreams does not have a manufacturing country in the traditional sense; instead, it operates through a global network of technology hubs and offices, primarily headquartered in Madrid and Barcelona. The company is owned by eDreams ODIGEO SA, a publicly traded corporation with a diverse shareholder base that includes private equity firms like Permira alongside institutional and public investors.
