Asda Green Tea is a popular own-brand beverage from the British supermarket retailer Asda. The product is specifically designed to be environmentally friendly, featuring plant-based, plastic-free tea bags that are certified as compostable, allowing customers to dispose of them in food waste bins. While the green tea leaves themselves are sourced globally from regions certified by the Rainforest Alliance, the product is blended and packed within the United Kingdom.

The brand has undergone significant ownership changes in recent years. Historically a subsidiary of the American retail giant Walmart, Asda was acquired in 2021 by a consortium led by the Issa brothers and the private equity firm TDR Capital. As of 2024 and moving into 2026, TDR Capital has increased its stake to become the majority owner (67.5%), with Mohsin Issa and Walmart retaining minority interests. The brand remains headquartered in Leeds, West Yorkshire, maintaining its identity as a staple of British retail.
