Eastpak is a globally recognized lifestyle brand that began its journey in 1952 in Boston, Massachusetts. Originally founded as Eastern Canvas Products USA Inc. by Monte Goldman, the company initially focused on manufacturing heavy-duty gear, such as duffels and safety equipment, for the U.S. military. This military heritage laid the foundation for the brand's reputation for extreme durability and high-quality construction.

In 1976, the brand transitioned into the consumer market under the name Eastpak after Mark Goldman joined his father’s business and recognized the growing trend of students using military-grade bags for school. This shift led to the creation of the iconic Padded Pak'r backpack, which remains a staple of urban culture today. The brand further solidified its position in the market by being the first to introduce bold prints and wheeled luggage to the consumer bag industry.

Since 2000, Eastpak has been a subsidiary of VF Corporation, an American global apparel and footwear powerhouse. While the brand's roots are firmly planted in the United States, its operations became highly globalized, with its headquarters eventually moving to Antwerp, Belgium, to better serve the European and Asian markets. Manufacturing is currently conducted across multiple countries, primarily in Asia, to support its worldwide distribution network.
