The brand was launched in the summer of 2023 following a strategic restructuring of the traditional German manufacturer Hakle. While the Hakle brand name was sold to the Italian Sofidel Group, the production facility in Düsseldorf-Reisholz and its workforce were transitioned into Jung Papier GmbH under the leadership of Volker Jung.

The products are manufactured directly in Düsseldorf, Germany, continuing a paper-making tradition at that site that dates back to 1906. The brand emphasizes local production, sustainability, and the use of innovative fibers, such as grass-based tissue. The ultimate ownership lies with the Jung family through Jung Papier GmbH, maintaining the business as a German family-owned enterprise focused on high-quality and eco-friendly paper solutions.
