Kalles Lätt caviar

Kalles Lätt is a Swedish household staple, a lighter version of the iconic creamed cod roe spread known as Kalles Kaviar. Originally launched in 1954 by Abba Seafood, the brand has become a national symbol in Sweden, easily recognized by its distinctive blue and yellow aluminum tube and the illustration of 'Kalle', modeled after the son of a former CEO.

Today, the brand is owned by the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla through its subsidiary Orkla Foods Sverige. The product is primarily manufactured at the company's factory in Kungshamn, Sweden. The roe itself is sustainably sourced, often from the Norwegian or Barents Sea, and then aged in barrels in 'Kalles rock room' (a storage facility in the bedrock) in Bohuslän to develop its unique salty and smoky flavor before being blended and tubed.
