Sigdal Bakeri Herbs & Sea Salt Crispbread

Sigdal Bakeri is a specialized Norwegian crispbread brand that originated in a small family bakery in Sigdal municipality in 1977. The brand focuses on artisanal, seed-packed crispbreads that have gained significant international popularity.

Historically, the bakery operated in Prestfoss, but following an acquisition by the larger Norwegian food company United Bakeries in 2013-2014, the production was eventually modernized. In late 2022, the original facility in Sigdal was closed, and manufacturing was consolidated at a larger, more efficient site in Telemark, Norway, to handle growing demand and rising costs.

Today, Sigdal Bakeri is an integral part of the United Bakeries group (specifically United Bakeries Norway AS). The ultimate owner is the Norwegian holding company United Bakeries Holding AS, which is primarily controlled by the French-Norwegian entrepreneur Remi Goulignac (through Pare Holding AS). The group also maintains a close strategic partnership and cross-ownership with the prominent Norwegian bakery chain Åpent Bakeri.
