Tørsleffs Ground Black Pepper

Tørsleffs is a household name in Denmark, deeply rooted in the country's culinary history since 1892. Founded by Valdemar Tørsleff in Skive and later expanded in Aarhus with partner Victor B. Strand, the brand became famous for its 'cooking chemistry' products like Vanila vanilla sugar and Atamon preservatives.

The ground black pepper shown here is part of their extensive spice range, recognized by the iconic diamond-patterned (harlequin) packaging. While the raw peppercorns are sourced globally from tropical regions where Piper nigrum is grown, the final processing, grinding, and packaging are primarily managed in Denmark to ensure local quality standards. Today, the brand is owned by the Norwegian-based Haugen-Gruppen, which manages various food brands across the Nordic region.
