Streets is an iconic Australian ice cream brand that has become a staple of local culture since its founding in the 1920s. Established by Edwin 'Ted' Street in Wollongong, New South Wales, the brand began as a small business delivering handmade treats before expanding into a national powerhouse with famous products like the Paddle Pop, Golden Gaytime, and Cornetto.
Today, Streets is owned by the global consumer goods giant Unilever. While it remains deeply rooted in Australia with major production facilities such as the Minto factory in New South Wales, the brand's international parentage means that some globally shared products are manufactured in various locations depending on regional supply chains. The brand continues to lead the Australian impulse ice cream market under the recognizable 'Heartbrand' logo.
In late 2024, Unilever announced strategic plans to spin off its entire ice cream division into a separate standalone entity. This move, expected to be finalized by late 2025 or early 2026, aims to optimize growth and simplify the corporate structure, making Streets part of one of the world's largest independent ice cream businesses.
