Dacia motor vehicles

Dacia is the most prominent automotive brand in Romania, named after the historic region that constitutes much of present-day Romania. The company was founded in 1966 with the goal of providing modern, reliable, and affordable cars to the Romanian people. From its inception, Dacia maintained a close relationship with the French automaker Renault, initially producing cars under license such as the Dacia 1300, which was based on the Renault 12.

In 1999, the Renault Group officially acquired Dacia, transforming it into a global brand focused on 'smart buy' value propositions. Under Renault's stewardship, Dacia underwent a massive modernization of its primary production facility in Mioveni, Romania. Today, the brand is a cornerstone of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance's entry-level strategy, producing popular models like the Logan, Sandero, and Duster that are sold across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
