Original Wagner Flammkuchen Alsace Style

Original Wagner is a prominent German brand specializing in frozen pizzas and Flammkuchen. Founded by Ernst Wagner in 1968 in Nonnweiler-Otzenhausen, the company revolutionized the frozen food market by introducing the first stone-oven pizza. To this day, the majority of manufacturing remains concentrated at its historical site in Saarland, Germany.

Historically, Nestle acquired Wagner in stages, becoming the sole owner in 2013. However, following a strategic shift in 2023, Nestle entered into a joint venture with the private equity firm PAI Partners. As of 2024 and beyond, the brand is managed under the umbrella of 'Froneri', a joint venture specializing in frozen products (primarily ice cream and frozen pizza), with ownership split between Nestle and PAI Partners. This ensures that while the brand maintains its traditional German roots and local production, it benefits from a global corporate infrastructure.
