The brand's journey began in the United States in the 1950s when Professor Vernon Krieble developed anaerobic sealants at Trinity College. This breakthrough led to the formation of the American Sealants Company, which later became the Loctite Corporation.

In 1997, the brand was acquired by Henkel, a German multinational chemical and consumer goods giant. Today, Loctite products are manufactured in several strategic locations worldwide; for the European market, a significant amount of production occurs at Henkel’s specialized facility in Dublin, Ireland.
