Fox’s Biscuits is a quintessential British confectionery brand with a history dating back to 1853. Founded by Michael Spedding in Batley, West Yorkshire, the brand began as a small shop-based bakery. Over the decades, it evolved into one of the UK’s most recognizable biscuit manufacturers, famous for classics like the Rocky bar, Party Rings, and Viennese Whirls.
The brand has undergone several changes in ownership throughout the late 20th and early 21st centuries. After being part of Northern Foods and later Boparan Holdings (2 Sisters Food Group), Fox’s Biscuits was acquired in 2020 by Ferrero, the Italian confectionery giant. Specifically, it is managed under the Ferrero-related entity, CTH Invest. Despite its international ownership, the heart of the manufacturing remains in the United Kingdom, primarily at its historic sites in Batley, Uttoxeter, and Kirkham.
Today, Fox’s continues to be a market leader in the premium and everyday biscuit categories. Under the stewardship of the Ferrero Group, the brand benefits from extensive global distribution networks while maintaining its heritage of British baking excellence. The brand is often associated with its mascot, Vinnie the Panda, which helped solidify its place in modern British popular culture.
