Pukka Herbs is a prominent British tea and supplement brand known for its organic and ethically sourced herbal blends. Founded in 2001 in Bristol, United Kingdom, by herbalist Sebastian Pole and business consultant Tim Westwell, the brand quickly established itself as a leader in the premium tea market by combining traditional Ayurvedic principles with modern health science.
While the company sources its medicinal-grade herbs and spices from over 50 countries globally—including India, Malawi, and Vietnam—the actual blending and production of the final tea bags predominantly take place in the United Kingdom. This ensures that the aesthetic and quality standards established at its Bristol headquarters are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
In 2017, Pukka was acquired by the consumer goods giant Unilever. However, in 2022, Unilever sold its global tea division (then known as Ekaterra) to the private equity firm CVC Capital Partners. Today, Pukka is managed under the umbrella of 'Lipton Teas and Infusions,' which is owned by CVC Capital Partners. Despite these changes in corporate ownership, Pukka maintains its B Corp certification and commitment to environmental initiatives like '1% for the Planet'.
