Founded in 1906 by Will Keith Kellogg in Battle Creek, Michigan, Kellogg’s began as the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company. The brand revolutionized the global breakfast industry with the commercialization of Corn Flakes and subsequently expanded into a wide array of snacks and convenience foods. In 2023, the original Kellogg Company executed a major corporate split into two independent public entities: Kellanova and WK Kellogg Co.

Kellanova focuses on the higher-growth global snacking market (including Pringles, Cheez-It, and Pop-Tarts) and international cereal markets, while WK Kellogg Co manages the legacy North American cereal business. Manufacturing remains highly globalized, with production facilities in approximately 18 countries, including major hubs in the United States, United Kingdom, Mexico, and Australia. In a significant shift for 2026 and beyond, ownership has consolidated under larger food conglomerates, with Mars Inc. acquiring Kellanova and Ferrero acquiring WK Kellogg Co, cementing their place within the portfolios of global confectionery and snacking giants.
