Hotels.com, known in various markets as Hoteles.com, is a leading provider of hotel accommodation worldwide, offering booking services through its own network of localized websites and telephone call centers. The brand originated in the United States in 1991 as the Hotel Reservations Network (HRN), founded by David Litman and Robert Diener. It initially focused on providing hotel booking services via a toll-free number before transitioning into a major digital entity.
In 2001, the company was acquired by USA Networks Inc. (later IAC/InterActiveCorp) and rebranded to Hotels.com in 2002. Today, the brand is a core part of Expedia Group, one of the world's largest travel platforms. As a digital service provider, it does not have a physical manufacturing location; instead, its operations are powered by decentralized technology hubs and servers primarily based in the United States, supporting a global inventory of hundreds of thousands of properties across nearly 200 countries.
