Perugina is an iconic Italian brand with a history dating back to 1907. It was founded in Perugia by Francesco Andreani, Leone Ascoli, Francesco Buitoni, and Annibale Spagnoli. The brand is legendary for creating the Baci (meaning 'kisses') chocolates in 1922, which feature a distinct hazelnut filling and romantic notes tucked inside the silver foil.

Today, Perugina operates under the umbrella of a global food corporation while maintaining its cultural identity. The majority of Its production is centered in San Sisto, Italy, where the 'Casa del Cioccolato' (House of Chocolate) and the Perugina Chocolate School are located. This allows the brand to preserve its traditional Italian craftsmanship while utilizing the distribution networks of its Swiss parent company.
