Peugeot is one of the world's most recognizable automotive brands, with a history dating back to 1810 in France. Originally started as a family-run steel foundry producing saws and pepper grinders, the company transitioned into bicycle manufacturing and eventually motor vehicles by the late 19th century. Today, Peugeot is known for its stylish and efficient European vehicle designs, ranging from compact hatchbacks to SUVs and luxury sedans.

Peugeot operates a global manufacturing network with major production facilities in France, Spain, Slovakia, China, and Morocco. In terms of ownership, Peugeot was formerly the cornerstone of the PSA Group (Peugeot Société Anonyme). In early 2021, the PSA Group merged with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) to form Stellantis N.V. This mega-merger created one of the world's largest automotive groups, headquartered in the Netherlands, which now oversees Peugeot alongside other major brands like Citroën, Opel, Jeep, and Fiat. Despite this international corporate structure, Peugeot remains deeply rooted in French heritage and design.
