Founded in Milan in 1885 by Edoardo Bianchi, Bianchi is the world's oldest bicycle manufacturing company still in existence. The brand is legendary in the cycling world, particularly for its iconic 'Celeste' turquoise color and its historic association with champions like Fausto Coppi and Marco Pantani.
While the brand's heart and design center (Reparto Corse) remain in Treviglio, Italy, the manufacturing process has evolved. Like many premium bicycle brands, the majority of carbon frames and components are manufactured in specialized facilities in Taiwan. However, Bianchi maintains significant assembly and high-end carbon production lines at its Italian headquarters.
Since 1997, Bianchi has been a flagship brand of the Cycleurope AB group. This group is itself a part of Grimaldi Industrier AB, a Swedish industrial conglomerate. This ownership has allowed Bianchi to maintain its Italian heritage and design excellence while benefiting from global distribution networks.
