Grolsch Premium Pilsner

Grolsch Premium Pilsner is one of the world's most recognizable Dutch beer brands, famous for its iconic 'beugel' (swing-top) bottle. The brewery was founded in 1615 by Willem Neerfeldt in the town of Groenlo, which was then known as Grolle—the source of the brand's name. For centuries, the brand was built on the philosophy of "Vakmanschap is Meesterschap" (Craftsmanship is Mastership), emphasizing quality and traditional brewing methods.

In modern history, the brewery moved from its original locations to a state-of-the-art facility in Enschede following a local disaster in 2000. Ownership has transitioned from the founding De Groen family to several global beverage giants. Today, Grolsch is owned by the Asahi Group, which acquired it in 2016 as part of a multi-billion euro deal to expand its premium European portfolio. While most Grolsch is brewed in its home city of Enschede, licensed production has occurred in other countries like the United Kingdom to serve international markets.
