LU Glico Mikado Milk Chocolate

Mikado is a popular snack consisting of thin biscuit sticks partially dipped in smooth milk chocolate. The product is the result of a long-standing joint venture between the Japanese company Ezaki Glico, the original creator of 'Pocky', and the iconic French biscuit brand LU. Created to appeal specifically to the European market, Mikado has become a staple snack across France and the United Kingdom.

While the concept and original recipe were developed in Japan by Ezaki Glico, the Mikado brand specifically is largely associated with its European production roots. Today, the brand is owned by Mondelēz International, which acquired the biscuit division of Danone (including LU) in 2007. Manufacturing for the European market is primarily centered in France to ensure consistent quality and distribution across the continent.
