Amora is an iconic French brand that has been a staple in European kitchens for nearly a century. Established in 1919 in Dijon, France, by Armand Bizouard, the brand is synonymous with high-quality mustard and condiments. For decades, the brand was headquartered in the culinary heart of Burgundy, maintaining a strong connection to traditional French gastronomic heritage.
Over the years, the brand transitioned through several corporate ownerships. In the late 20th century, it was part of the Danone group through the Amora-Maille subsidiary. In 1999, Unilever acquired Amora-Maille, integrating it into its vast global portfolio. Today, Amora remains an essential brand for Unilever, continuing its legacy of producing fine and strong mustards, mayonnaises, and sauces, with its primary manufacturing operations still centered in France to serve the European market.
