The brand has undergone several changes in ownership, reflecting its growth into a global entity. After being owned by the American NBTY (later Nature’s Bounty Co.) for many years, it was acquired by the investment firm L1 Retail in 2017. As of the mid-2020s, the company continues to operate under this ownership, maintaining a massive retail presence across the UK, Europe, and Asia.

While Holland & Barrett's headquarters and primary manufacturing base remain in the United Kingdom—notably with a major distribution and production presence in Nuneaton—their vast private-label catalog also sources raw ingredients and finished goods from specialized manufacturers globally to meet modern regulatory and supply chain demands.
