Grolsch beer

Grolsch is a historic Dutch beer brand with roots dating back to 1615, founded by Willem Neerfeldt in the town of Groenlo (then known as Grolle). The brand is famously associated with its distinctive green 'swing-top' (beugel) bottle, which was introduced in 1897 and remains a symbol of the brand's commitment to tradition and quality.

While the brand was family-owned for centuries—notably by the de Groen family from 1895 until 2007—its ownership transitioned into the corporate sphere in the 21st century. It was first acquired by SABMiller in 2008 and later sold to Asahi Group Holdings in 2016 as part of a regulatory divestment during the AB InBev and SABMiller merger. Today, Grolsch continues to be brewed primarily at its modern facility in Enschede, Netherlands, maintaining its legacy as a key player in the global premium lager market.
