Albo is a prestigious Spanish brand with a long-standing history in the canned seafood industry, dating back to its founding in 1869 by Carlos Albo Kay. Initially established in Candás (Asturias), the company later moved its headquarters to Vigo (Galicia), which is the heart of the Spanish canning industry. For over 150 years, Albo has been recognized for its high-quality preserves, including squid, tuna, and sardines.

In 2016, the brand underwent a significant change in ownership when it was acquired by the Chinese group Shanghai Kaichuang Marine International. This acquisition allowed the brand to expand its reach internationally while maintaining its production facilities and traditional methods in Spain. Today, the products are still primarily manufactured in Galicia, Spain, specifically at their modern plant in Salvaterra de Miño, ensuring the product retains its authentic Spanish heritage and quality standards under the umbrella of a global seafood giant.
