Estrella Damm is a flagship Mediterranean lager with a history and heritage dating back to 1876. It was founded in Barcelona, Spain, by August Küntzmann Damm and his wife Melanie, who had emigrated from the German-speaking Alsace region. The beer is known for its original recipe that includes barley malt, rice, and hops, specifically formulated to suit the warmer Mediterranean climate.

For most of its history, the beer was brewed exclusively in its home city of Barcelona. However, as of 2026, production has expanded internationally. While the primary production hub remains the El Prat de Llobregat facility near Barcelona, the brand is also manufactured in the United Kingdom at the Eagle Brewery in Bedford. The brand is owned by S.A. Damm, a major Spanish beverage group that remains controlled by the Carceller family, ensuring the brand maintains its independent, family-led identity as it celebrates over 150 years of operation.
