Fortaleza ground coffee

Cafés Fortaleza is a historic Spanish coffee brand founded in 1885 by the Freire family in Bilbao. The brand has generations of heritage as a leader in the coffee industry in Spain, particularly known for its 'Maestros Cafeteros' (Master Coffee Roasters) expertise.

While the raw coffee beans are sourced from various tropical coffee-growing regions globally, the roasting, blending, and packaging processes primarily take place at the company's facilities in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. Today, the brand is owned by the Italian multinational coffee group Lavazza, which acquired the parent company (Cafés Fortaleza) to strengthen its presence in the Spanish market while maintaining the brand's local identity and Basque roots.
