Moser Roth is a historic German chocolate brand with Victorian-era roots, originally founded in Stuttgart in 1841 by the Roth family. After a merger with Moser in 1902, it became a leading name in German luxury confectionery. Following its closure in the 1940s due to the war, the brand name was eventually acquired by the retailer Aldi in the 1960s.
Today, the brand operates as a private label exclusively for Aldi. The manufacturing is handled by the Storck Group (August Storck KG), a renowned German confectioner responsible for other major brands like Toffifee and Werther's Original. The product is primarily produced in Germany and is widely recognized for its high production standards and inclusion in the UK's 'Great Taste' awards.
