Mozilla Firefox Browser

Firefox is a free and open-source web browser developed by the Mozilla Foundation and its subsidiary, the Mozilla Corporation. Originally launched in 2004 under the code name Phoenix, the project was created by community members Dave Hyatt, Joe Hewitt, and Blake Ross who sought a more streamlined browsing experience compared to the aging Mozilla Application Suite.

Since its inception, Firefox development has been a collaborative international effort. While the core leadership is based in the United States, contributors and developers from all around the world maintain the codebase. It has long been recognized as a privacy-focused alternative to proprietary browsers, emphasizing user control and web standards.

Its commercial activities are managed through the Mozilla Corporation, which is wholly owned by the foundation.
