Manufacturing for these industrial products occurs globally, with major facilities in Europe and Asia.

For consumer products, the Nokia brand is licensed to other entities. Most notably, Nokia-branded smartphones and tablets are developed, marketed, and sold by HMD Global Oy, an independent Finnish firm. HMD Global designs the devices, while manufacturing is primarily outsourced to FIH Mobile Limited, a subsidiary of Foxconn, which operates factories mostly in China and Vietnam. This licensing model allows the legendary brand to maintain a presence in the global retail market while the parent company focuses on business-to-business infrastructure.
