Borotalco is one of Italy's most iconic personal care brands, with a heritage dating back to 1878. It was founded in Florence by Henry Roberts, a British pharmacist who owned H. Roberts & Co. Roberts invented the 'Boro-Talcum' formula by combining high-purity talc from the Chisone Valley in Piedmont with boric acid, creating a soothing and antiseptic powder that became a household staple.

In 1904, the product was first marketed in its signature green tin, which remains a symbol of the brand today. In 1921, the company merged with its rival to form Manetti & Roberts. The brand eventually expanded into a full range of personal care products, including deodorants, shower gels, and soaps.

Today, Borotalco is owned by the Bolton Group, a major Italian multinational corporation that acquired Manetti & Roberts in 1992. The product continues to be manufactured in Italy, prioritizing high-quality, asbestos-free talc sourced from domestic mines.
