D&G (Desnoes & Geddes) Ginger Beer

D&G Ginger Beer is a classic Jamaican beverage known for its sharp, spicy ginger flavor. It was originally created by Desnoes & Geddes (D&G), a company founded in Jamaica in 1918 by Eugene Desnoes and Thomas Geddes. While initially famous for soft drinks, D&G also famously brewed Red Stripe beer.

Direct ownership of the D&G soft drink brand changed as the world's beverage markets consolidated. For a significant period, the soft drink line was managed under a licensing agreement with PepsiCo for international distribution. However, today the beverage is produced in Jamaica and exported worldwide, remaining a symbol of Caribbean refreshment. The alcoholic brewing operations were sold to Diageo and later to Heineken, but the soft drink portfolio remains a distinct heritage line often managed by Pepsi-Cola Jamaica locally.
