Colman’s Mustard

Colman’s Mustard is a historic British brand established in 1814 by Jeremiah Colman in Norwich, England. Known for its iconic yellow packaging and pungent flavor, it has become a staple of British culinary tradition. The brand began in a mill at Bawburgh before moving to Carrow Works, which served as its primary production hub for over 160 years.

In 1995, Colman's was acquired by the multinational corporation Unilever. In 2020, Unilever moved the production of the mustard from Norwich to other sites in the United Kingdom, specifically to Burton upon Trent and the condiment-focused facility in Tiptree. Despite these changes in manufacturing sites, Colman's remains one of the oldest and most recognizable food brands in the world, maintaining its status as a quintessential British product under global ownership.
