Vimovo

Vimovo is a prescription medication combining naproxen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor. It was originally developed through a collaboration between Pozen Inc. and AstraZeneca to treat symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis while reducing the risk of gastric ulcers.

In 2018, the German pharmaceutical company Grünenthal acquired the rights to Vimovo in many global markets, including Europe, from AstraZeneca. Manufacturing typically occurs at various specialized pharmaceutical facilities across Europe and international locations to meet global demand. Today, Grünenthal maintains the brand as part of its core portfolio for pain management, overseeing global distribution and regulatory compliance from its headquarters in Aachen, Germany.
