J&B (Justerini & Brooks) is one of the world's most iconic blended Scotch whiskies, with a history dating back to 1749. The brand was founded when Giacomo Justerini, an Italian from Bologna, moved to London and partnered with George Johnson to establish a wine and spirits merchant business. In 1831, the company was purchased by Alfred Brooks, leading to the world-renowned name Justerini & Brooks.

While the brand's heritage is deeply rooted in the luxury wine trade of London's St. James's district, its namesake whisky is produced and blended in Scotland. J&B Rare was specifically developed in the 1930s to appeal to the American palate following the end of Prohibition. It is a complex blend of 42 individual malt and grain whiskies, primarily sourced from the Speyside region.

Today, J&B is owned by Diageo, a global leader in the beverage alcohol industry. The brand remains a staple of international spirits, known for its light, fruity character and historical associations with figures such as the Hollywood 'Rat Pack.' Despite its global reach, the brand maintains its prestige through its association with the original Justerini & Brooks merchant house, which continues to operate as a high-end wine merchant in London.
