The brand's journey began in London in 1957, founded by Shanta and Laxmishanker Pathak to serve the growing Indian community in Britain. Most Patak's products, including their chutneys and curry pastes, are manufactured in the United Kingdom, specifically at a large production facility in Leigh, Greater Manchester. In 2007, the brand was acquired by Associated British Foods (ABF), a major international food, ingredients, and retail group. Today, Patak's continues to operate under ABF's grocery division, maintaining its status as one of the world's most recognizable Indian food brands.
