Albo is one of Spain's most prestigious and historic canned food brands, founded in 1869 by Carlos Albo Kay. Initially established in Santoña, Cantabria, the company became synonymous with premium quality seafood preservation, particularly its mussels, tuna, and sardines.

In 2016, the company underwent a major ownership shift when it was acquired by the Chinese group Shanghai Kaichuang Marine International. This acquisition integrated Albo into a global seafood supply chain while maintaining its traditional Spanish manufacturing base. Today, Albo continues to operate its main production facilities in Galicia, Spain, ensuring the local heritage and quality standards of its 'en escabeche' and 'al natural' seafood products are preserved for international markets.
