OLW Snacks

OLW, short for Old London Wasa, is one of Sweden's most iconic snack brands, deeply embedded in the Swedish culture of 'Fredagsmys' (Friday coziness). The brand was founded in 1967 through a joint venture between the Swedish crispbread manufacturer Wasabröd and the American food giant Borden Foods. The name was derived from Borden's 'Old London' facility in New York combined with 'Wasa'. Based in Filipstad, Sweden, OLW has been producing its legendary snacks for over 50 years.

Today, the flagship manufacturing plant remains in Filipstad, where the majority of its potato chips and the famous 'cheez doodles' are produced using locally sourced Swedish potatoes. While the core snack range is manufactured in Sweden, some specific products like certain nuts or specialty items may be sourced from other facilities within the Orkla group across Europe. Since 2005, OLW has been owned by the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla ASA, and it currently operates under the subsidiary Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Sverige AB.
