Tirol Milch Alpenbutter is a premium dairy product deeply rooted in the Alpine region of Tyrol, Austria. The brand, Tirol Milch, was originally established as a regional cooperative by Tyrolean mountain farmers with the goal of processing and marketing their high-quality milk. The butter is specifically marketed as 'Alpenbutter' (Alpine Butter), highlighting its origin from the milk of cows grazing in the Tyrolean Alps.

In 2011, the Tirol Milch cooperative merged with Berglandmilch, which is now the largest dairy cooperative in Austria. Berglandmilch remains the ultimate owner of the brand. Production is primarily concentrated in Austria, specifically in the Wörgl dairy plant, which is one of the most modern facilities of its kind in Europe, ensuring that the product maintains its traditional heritage while utilizing contemporary manufacturing standards.
