Anker was founded in 2011 by Steven Yang, a former Google software engineer, with the goal of providing high-quality, reliable charging solutions to a global market. Originally established in Shenzhen, the company quickly verticalized its supply chain and moved its operational headquarters to Changsha, Hunan.

Starting as an e-commerce brand that gained massive popularity on Amazon, Anker leveraged China's mature electronics manufacturing infrastructure to innovate in charging tech, most notably pioneering the use of Gallium Nitride (GaN) for more efficient and smaller power adapters. Today, Anker Innovations is a publicly-traded multinational corporation with a portfolio that includes sub-brands like Soundcore (audio), Eufy (smart home), and Nebula (projectors). While manufacturing is concentrated in industrial clusters across Guangdong, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu, Anker has a truly global footprint with major offices and subsidiaries in the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, and Singapore.
