Orangina is a iconic citrus beverage renowned for its unique combination of orange juice, orange pulp, and sparkling water. Originally developed in French Algeria by Spanish pharmacist Dr. Trigo in 1933, it was later launched as a commercial brand in France by Léon Beton in 1936. Its distinctive bulbous orange-textured bottle has become a symbol of the brand globally.
Today, the ownership structure of Orangina is geographically split. While it was long associated with the French Group Pernod Ricard, the brand was eventually acquired by Suntory Holdings, a Japanese multinational. Suntory Beverage & Food Europe oversees the brand in most European territories including France and the UK. However, in North America, the brand rights are managed by Keurig Dr Pepper. Production typically occurs locally in major markets to ensure freshness and reduce logistics costs.
