Tim Tam is an iconic Australian chocolate biscuit, first launched by Arnott's in 1964. Named after a winning horse at the 1958 Kentucky Derby, these biscuits have become a staple of Australian snacking culture and are widely exported globally, including to Canada. The product consists of two malted biscuits separated by a light chocolate cream filling and coated in a thin layer of textured chocolate.
While the brand is deeply rooted in Australian heritage, its ownership has shifted through major global corporations over the decades. Originally created by Arnott's Biscuits, the company was acquired by the American giant Campbell Soup Company in 1997. In late 2019, Campbell sold the Arnott's Group to KKR & Co. Inc., a leading global investment firm headquartered in New York City. Today, the Arnott's Group operates as a major subsidiary under KKR's portfolio, maintaining its primary production facilities in Australia.
