Innocent Drinks was founded in 1999 by three friends—Richard Reed, Adam Balon, and Jon Wright—after they tested their smoothies at a music festival in London. The brand quickly became a staple in the UK market, known for its playful packaging and commitment to using 100% natural fruit ingredients with no added sugar.

While the brand began as a small British startup, its rapid growth attracted significant investment. Between 2009 and 2013, The Coca-Cola Company progressively acquired shares in the business, moving from a minority stakeholder to the ultimate owner. Despite this change in corporate ownership, Innocent maintains its unique brand identity and continues to operate out of its headquarters, known as Fruit Towers, in London.

Manufacturing takes place across several locations to support its European distribution network. A significant portion of production occurs at 'The Blender,' the company's carbon-neutral manufacturing facility in Rotterdam, Netherlands, which was designed to minimize the environmental impact of their supply chain. The brand is also recognized as a certified B Corp, reflecting its commitment to social and environmental performance.
