Gevalia Original Instant Coffee

Gevalia is a heritage coffee brand founded in Gävle, Sweden, in 1853 by Victor Theodor Engwall. For over a century, it remained a family business and earned a prestigious appointment as a purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden.

Today, Gevalia is owned by JDE Peet's (Jacobs Douwe Egberts), a Dutch-American beverage conglomerate. While the brand carries a strong Swedish identity, its instant coffee products are typically manufactured in JDE's large-scale production facilities in Germany and elsewhere in Europe, rather than the original factory in Gävle which focuses on ground coffee.
