Don Papa MassKara Spirit Drink

Don Papa MassKara is a premium spirit drink inspired by the vibrant MassKara Festival in Bacolod, Philippines. It is produced by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company, which was founded in 2011 by Stephen Carroll. The spirit is distilled from noble sugar cane grown on the island of Negros, known locally as 'Sugarlandia', and is infused with local ingredients including Calamansi (a Philippine lime), Siling Labuyo (wild chili), and honey.

Originally an independent boutique brand, Don Papa gained global acclaim for its distinct flavor profile and artistic packaging. In early 2023, the brand reached a significant milestone when it was acquired by the multinational spirits company Diageo. While the ownership has shifted to a British-based global leader, the production remains rooted in the Philippines to maintain the authenticity of the local ingredients and craftsmanship that define the brand.
